2026 Eye Trauma

Thank You for a Successful Annual Meeting & Lab

The American Society of Ophthalmic Trauma (ASOT) Annual Meeting, Eye Trauma 2026, was a resounding success, bringing together more than 200 attendees from April 24–26, 2026, in Houston, Texas, at the Houston Methodist Institute for Technology, Innovation and Education. Notably, Eye Trauma 2026 is the only U.S. meeting focused exclusively on advancing care and outcomes for the injured eye, reinforcing its unique and critical role in the field.

Over the course of three days, the meeting delivered a dynamic and comprehensive program designed to foster scientific exchange, hands-on learning, and professional collaboration. Attendees participated in a robust lineup of expert-led scientific sessions, alongside five interactive hands-on wet labs that provided valuable opportunities to refine surgical techniques and practical skills in a state-of-the-art training environment.

The conference also featured 81 abstract posters, showcasing the latest research, clinical advancements, and innovations in ophthalmic trauma. These presentations highlighted the ongoing progress and dedication within the field to improving patient outcomes and advancing care standards.

Industry engagement was a key driver of the meeting’s success. A total of 28 sponsors contributed generous in-kind support for the wet labs, including advanced equipment and surgical instruments, in addition to providing $50,000 in sponsorship funding. Further strengthening ASOT’s commitment to education and hands-on training, the Society received a $7,500 grant from Alcon, supporting the continued expansion and quality of its skills-based programming.

Altogether, Eye Trauma 2026 exemplified ASOT’s mission to advance education, foster collaboration, and drive innovation in ophthalmic trauma care—offering attendees an unparalleled opportunity for learning, skill development, and meaningful professional connection.

EYE TRAUMA 2026 is the only US meeting focused solely on improving outcomes for the injured eye!

Truly one of a kind. I don’t think there is a conference comparable in terms of lab experience and speakers. Having some of the best ophthalmologists speak so passionately about their work is truly inspiring and motivating.

As a medical student, I found my experience with the wet lab incredibly beneficial and informative for my future career aspirations. I was fortunate to engage with leaders in the field of ophthalmic trauma, and I’m confident that the conversations I had will serve as a launching pad for meaningful mentorship and exciting career opportunities.

The depth of content and talent you [packed] into a single day was frankly astounding; a true “who’s who” of eye trauma luminaries all in one place!

All of the sessions were engaging and informative. Every speaker and lab mentor is a superstar and world expert in their field.

Every session and speaker was truly incredibly engaging and informative. The most touching was the medical missions, regarding real world trauma care challenges in austere, conflict, and disaster scenarios.

The size of the conference was appropriate for meaningful connections and attendings felt more approachable as a medical student.

Warm hospitality and incredible organization at the ASOT meeting. We had a wonderful time, a wonderful meeting and a chance to meet wonderful people.
